Based on the story, this varied game challenges children's reading and observation skills. They can also mime the expressions of their favorite characters and collect new vocabulary. The back of cards includes 4 synonyms for the emotion. Eg SAD: miserable, upset, heart-broken, unhappy
I also use the cards from this set, in an intervention setting, to help children understand cause and effect.
Holding the NASTY PRINCESS and SAD MAID cards I might say, when the Princess was nasty, it made the maid cry...and get the child to make similar connections. We can also use these cards to stimulate and illustrate conversations about emotions and feelings. Lee Bilby
