| Q: I installed Sign With Me 1.5 and everything was fine until I tried to run the software, then I get the message "msvbvm60.dll not found". What should I do? |
A: You should download and install the later "VB6 Runtime files" from Microsoft, refer to the downloads section below
Explanation: Older operating systems require a different version of the file to that used by the InstallShield installation. (1 case only reported) |
| Q: During installation of Sign With Me 1.0, I get an error stating that necessary files are not found. What should I do? |
A: On most installations you can safely click "ignore" and the software will function normally.
If you do have problems, try installing the Microsoft MDAC2.8 files in the downloads section below
Explanation: The files are Windows files that are missing from your system.
These may be called "MSDART32.dll" or "MSDAC21.dll" |
| Q: During installation I get a message that a file being copied is older than the one existing on my system. Should I install the new version or stick with the existing file? |
A: In most cases you do not need to update the files and can safely skip the file.
If you install skipping these files and the software will not work, you should try again, choosing to update the files.
Explanation: The files on the CD are most likely newer than those on your system, but the release dates on the files are confused, due to when the updated driver started to be written as compared to your Windows release date.

Frequently Asked Questions - Using the Software
| Q: When I install the software it says that the trial period has already expired. Why? |
A: The software was written to avoid this problem, the same date format is used throughout our software.
Regardless, Windows should know that difference between it's own day and month parts.
The exact source of the error is unknown, it appears to only be a problem with Windows 95&98. Try changing the short date format to dd/mm/yy or dd/mm/yyyy.
To change your date/time settings:
Win95,98&ME: Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional Settings
Win2000: Select Start > Control Panel > Regional Options
WinXP: Select Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options
... and click on the Date Tab.
Set the ShortDate format to dd/mm/yyyy (recommended, it avoids year2000 problems) or dd/mm/yy
Then Uninstall the software, and re-install it.
If you continue to have problems, please contact us immediately.
Explanation:
This is a problem with the date and time formats in Windows. It may be that some installations of Windows have a strange setting, or a Millennium
Bug/Year 2000 date fix has not been installed. Read more about it on the Microsoft website, especiially problems with file dates, access and excel.
|
| Q: When I try to change the date time settings in Win XP, it refuses to apply the new settings |
|
A: A number of users have recently reported problems with their date/time settings being changed by windows update, sometimes this creates an illegal date and sometimes being unable to set them.
There are several articles surrounding these problems on the Microsoft support website.
|
| Q: When I use Text to Sign Conversion and multiple results are found, I click one and the software crashes. Why? |
A: You need to wait until the software has finished processing all the words before clicking.
Explanation: The solution to this problem was intricate and buggy, so it has been removed from the software in the interests of compatibility with all installations of Windows.
|
| Q: When I am in Text To Sign Conversion, why does the heading and blue background look jagged? |
A: This is the only page in the software that will resize itself to fit the window it is in.
When windows does this resizing it must leave out pixels (parts) of the image, or guess as to which pixels to add. This is not a precise process.
Explanation:
The software has to work from low resolutions of 800x600 up to 1600x1200
or higher. If we left this page at 800x600, the sign images had breaks
in their outlines and were very hard to make out. We thought that it
was better to give you the option of using a higher resolution if you
had it, and being able to make out the signs on the screen, than to
force everyone to the "lowest common denominator". We feel than the
signs are much more important to you than the interface.
Either way printing is not effected. We will be looking for a more graceful solution in any future updates. |
