So What's New in Sign Resources?~ Autumn 2006 ~
What a year 2005 was for Australian Sign Language Resources.
For the first time, we saw sign language based products entering the mainstream market place with a number of large and small retail stores coming on board. Thank you to each and every one of you.
We saw ‘Baby Sign’ becoming ever more popular, with workshops popping up all over the country. Don’t forget to check www.signswap.com.au for your nearest baby, Key-sign, or AUSLAN course. Speaking of which, SignSwap has grown and grown and now delivers over 55,000 images every month! We expect to receive over 1million image requests this year alone! Thanks everyone for your support, we look forward to continuing to add more features to the site as the year goes on.
Thanks to the guys at Roadshow, hours of negotiating and
organisation on my own behalf we were able to revive the Wiggles DVD and distributed it in abundance. We are in discussions with ABC and Roadshow and will continue to push for more AUSLAN translated items from mainstream performers.
We introduced you all to the wonderful board books from Child’s Play, with our AUSLAN translation sheets attached to the back; and are preparing AUSLAN editions of children's board books this year. Baby Hands release their new ‘Australian Baby Hands’ Book and Flash cards, which are so easy to understand and popular with our baby signers. We welcomed Deaf Children Australia to the team with their AUSLAN dictionary; launched 7 new posters, and of course we created the new t-shirts.
The best part is 2006 is already proving to be bigger and better than 2005. We already have 7 new products to introduce to you in this catalogue and 5 more in pre-production.
