All about Australian Baby Hands Sign Products
Baby Hands Pty Ltd was established by Jackie Durin. Jackie has been interested in sign language for many years and has studied both Irish and Australian Sign Language. Recognising the fustration of many friend and family with young child associated with communication problems with pre-verbal children; Jackie began researching the use of sign language with young children.
As a result of her research, and with thanks to the support of Deaf Children Australia, Jackie complied and published her first book, 'Australian Baby Hands" in 2005, as a fun easy to follow guide. It semmed natural to then produce a book that was especially for the children, so the flip book was born.
The book is perfect for anyone considering, or begining to learn sign language. The delightful flip book is perfect for pre school and primary aged children.

This book clearly documents and explains the research surrounding 'Baby Sign', runs through tips for teaching baby sign to yourself and young children and has over 50 photos of Jackie signing AUSLAN signs for common and essencial communication with babies. Each photo is quiet large (10 X 15cm) and clearly illustrates and describes who to do the sign.
The process could not be easier!
We highly recommend this book to everyone considering introducing sign language to their baby/toddler. Whether it be to enhance preverbal communication with a hearing child, or to stimulate language development with a child with Autism, Downs, Cerebral Palsy, Speech Dyspraxia or a child with a hearing loss.
